Get Motivated Seminar & Nashville Sounds Baseball

On Tuesday I went to one of the best seminars I have ever been to. It was an all day event called Get Motivated. Had public speakers such as Rudy Guiliani, Peyton Manning, Jeff Fisher (head coach of TN titans), General Tommy Franks, Zig Zigler, Peter Lowe, and like 5 others.

Last night I took my family to a Nashville Sounds baseball game. They are a minor league baseball team here in Nashville that is the AAA affiliates of the Pittsburgh Pirates. We had great seats, 2nd row right on the 1st baseline! A foul ball rolled down the first baseline and the first base coach picked it up and I yelled if he would toss it over for my boy. He kindly obliged and it completely made my sons day! He hasnt stopped talking about the foul ball he got from the baseball game, it was pretty cool.

I got in about an hour of $25 NL an about an hour or two of $1/$2 limit and made about $40. I am now waiting on a cashout from partypoker so I can put back into UB and finish my bonus there.

Back in the Saddle Again

Played 1000 hands of $1/$2 on on partypoker and didnt fair great, won $10 which is like 1 bb/100. Good news is I cleared the $100 bonus so BR back up to $730.

Plan on taking roll and putting back into Ultimate Bet to clear the remaining $100 bonus I got there then off to FullTilt for that bonus.

Well it seems things were going to good for too long. I built my roll up to about $830 then all hell broke loose. I was cold decked and mixed with a bit of tilt and fishing I found my pretty bank roll back down to $620. *SIGH*

Cleared PP Bonus

Raked my 700 hands and got my $100 bonus, made another $40 playing as well, Going to cash out (will take about a week for last deposit to clear and money to come out). Partypoker has just sent me another bonus offer of 15% depo up to $100 bonus dollars so will cash deposit back $675 for another pending bonus to be started in a week. After clearing that bonus I will go back to the UB bonus then onto the Fulltilt Bonus again.

Workin' the Party Poker Bonus

Well out of the blue Party Poker deposited $20 into my account as a bonus and to keep it or cash it out I had to rake 200 hands so I did that in about 2 hours time 4 tabling at the $0.50/$1.00 level.

Then I deposited $500 using the BONUSAPR code which qualifies for a $100 bonus after 700 raked hands. I got in another 300 hands on top of the other 200 so about 400 more hands to go. I made $30 profit during the 500 hands which is not really that great, 1 BB/100, but its better then negative so I'll take it!

Confirmed Atlantic City/New York Trip June 15th-19th

Got my plane tickets to see my brother in New York. I fly out the night of June 15th into Islip and the 16th we will drive to the Borgata in Atlantic City. We are going to stay at the Borgata the 16th and 17th. The night of the 16th Steve Miller Band will be there and we got tickets for that too which is going to be awesome! June 18th we will drive back to New York and I fly back into Nashville on the 19th.

Should be an awesome trip.

Bonus Bonus Bonus

The last few days been kinda crazy with softball and family stuff.

Watched Survivor and Apprentice last night, I love those shows!

Worked off about $12 more of my UltimateBet bonus playing some $25 PL Omaha and also netted about a $30 profit so $40 ish up.

PartyPoker is starting their 20% bonus up to $100 bonus money today so I am going to withdraw $500 from UB to make the full qualifying deposit into Partypoker. Will need to rake 700 hands to get the $100 bonus then will go back to my UB bonus.

After I finish the UB bonus and Partypoker I will go back and finish working on the $300 left on my FullTilt bonus.

Rough!

Wow! Just played 2 hours of $2/$4 3 tables. HORRRRRRIBLE. I went down as much as $225 after an hour. Crazy rivers ate me all night. I worked off $30 of my bonus and worked my way back some, but still $120 loss, booooooooo!

Loosening Up My Game

I have found myself playing a lot more starting hands this week then I usually do and so far it has been a pretty good thing. I used to limit myself to the monsters, A T+ mid pairs, etc. I started playing a lot more suited connectors in multi-way pots and they have proven to be fairly profitable when they hit. The key is to cut bait when you hit a marginal flop. I had to learn this the hard way. For example I had 89s and flop 38K. I got bet into and I reraised to see where I stood and ended up getting whomped when it was called down to the river with a KJ.

The ultimate bet bonus is helping cover some of my losses. When 3 tabling $2/$4 I get about $15/hr in bonus and I usually see about 200 hands in that time so it raises my BB/100 quite a bit. I could break even at the tables and the bonus would keep me at 2x BB/100 which is actually pretty good.

This last 90 minute session I got $20 of my bonus and another $20 of table profit.

Another Pending Bonus

Ultimate Bet had another 3 day promotion where they would give you 50% bonus dollars up to $100 ($200 deposit). I withdrew $200 and deposited back immediately and now have $246 pending again in bonus money.

I played some $25 PL Omaha and made about $18 plus $7 of bonus.

Bad Beat From Hell

I dont like to tell bad beat stories to often, but this one was just ridiculous and cost me $131 in PL Omaha. I was at the $50 PL Omaha table and had worked my way up over about an hours time to $131 from my original $50 buyin when this hand comes along.

The flop starts with 3 way action when I bet pot another guy repots it, 3rd guy folds, I repot and am all-in at $131. I put this guy on ace high flush.

Turn brings the As . HMMM so much for the Ace high flush though. River brings a blank 7d.

Guy turns over 5h 5d Qs Ks for the royal flush!

I couldnt believe it, he called my $131 with the 2nd nut flush and 1 outter to the royal and hits. I was very sad.

I had to leave the table after that one because I was fuming so bad. I did just refer a friend to ultimatebet who made a $50 initial deposit so I got $50 more in pending bonuses.

No much time for poker - quick $2/$4 session

Didnt have time get any poker in on Friday or Saturday, was too busy with softball and other stuff. I did play a 1 hour 3 table $2/$4 session this morning on Ultimate Bet. I cleared $29 more of my UB bonus so have $138 left on that to clear. Along with my $29 I netted a $30 profit so BR up to $660.

PL Omaha Swings

I got in about 75 minutes of $25 PL Omaha last night. I realize this is a drawing game, but MAN! did I ever get drawn out on last night. 4 BIG hands where I had people at a decision for all their chips and they would call with things like a 4 out gutshot, flush with 1 card to come and 1:1 odds, etc. My worst beat was rivering the nut full house KK with JJ2QK on the board which also gave another guy a straight flush. I rebought in 4 times x$25 until I finally got things going. Was down $100 then went on a little rush and doubled up a time or two and ended the session with a $45 net win plus some more bonus cash. I got $167 bonus cash left pending on UB.

Nice Quick $2/$4 Session

Well I didnt have time to play much poker tonight, but the time spent was very good. I played 2 tables of $2/$4 about 30 minutes and was able to rack up about a $75 profit including another $6 of my UB bonus. I had 2 great hands that made it all happen. First was QQ with flop of Q2Q, not much action but still $40 pot. Biggest pot was $80 when my 22 flopped 2JA and A9 and KK decided to be calling stations to the river.

Ultimate Bet

So I finally got my $400 out of Pokerstars and Into Firepay and transferred it over to Ultimate Bet. The first time bonus thing didnt work automatically so I emailed their support and they were great. Set me up with $200 pending bonus money. I set down and 3 tabled $1/$2 for about 75 minutes. Only made $3, but got like 86 ultimate points.

To explain how their bonus works is you get 10 cents for every Ultimate Point and the points are given by rake amount. so my 86 points gave me $8.60 of my bonus. I decided to swich from 3 $1/$2 tables to 1 $2/$4 table. The points added up alot quicker here since nearly every rake was between $1-$3 which qualified for a full point each hand. I racked up about 100 more points in an hour for another $10 bonus release and also managed to win about $50 in play.

At some point I need to redposit back into fulltilt since I have about $330 or so still pending bonus there. Hopefully partypoker will run their April reload bonus soon too cause thats a nice easy bonus to clear.

Money Still in Limbo

Pokerstars finally emailed me early this morning saying they recognize my withdrawal request did not go through and they put the funds back into my stars account. I made another cashout request which I got an email confirmation of. So within 24 hours or whenever the money hits neteller I am going to depo into Ultimate Bet and work the 40% bonus.

We GOT CREAMED in our softball game last night. It was like we were playing the New York Yankees or something. This team we played did EVERYTHING right. They were throwing 40 - 50 mph fast pitch softballs (these are 11 - 12 year old girls!) They played defense amazing, utilizing cut-off, outfield backup, covering home from pitcher position, etc etc. We took a tough 23-1 beat. We are going to practice on Thursday to work on some things they exploited on us and our next game is an away game on Saturday. We'll be ready.

$400 then Cashout Problems

First of all we lost our softball game last night 12-20, ouch! We gave up 11 runs in the first inning! We rallied in the last inning and had bases loaded, but got 2 outs in a row to end the game.

We have another game tonight, but its supposed to rain so who knows if it will actually get played or not.

Anywho. I played some more $25 PL Omaha last night. Worked my $25 up to $65 in about 90 minutes and left.

So I got my Bankroll up at an even $400 again and then I had a friend tell me about the poker site Ultimate Bet has a 40% first time deposit bonus and it was semi-easy to clear. So I decided I would take my $400 and invest it into UltimateBet and qualify for a $160 deposit. When I hit withdraw apparently Neteller was having some server issues so it only withdrew $90 into firepay and I got no email confirmation of the other $310. I emailed Pokerstars support immediately and they wrote back saying Neteller was down at the time I tried to do my cashout and their accounts department will look into it immediately. *Sigh*

Late Night PL Omaha and Bluff Review

I stayed up playing some PL Omaha with Jayson Weber last night. Got in about a 2 hour session and netted about $40. Had one nice hand where I had JJ36 and flop came down J55 with 2 hearts. I min betted to attract anyone who may have had a 5 or flush draw. Ended up getting 2 way action. Turn brought an 8 and River brought another 8. I was hoping no one had 55 or 88 and got an all-in call from a guy who had 58. $30 Pot.

I meant to write about this earlier. I got my first issue of Bluff Magazine a week or two ago. Really nice magazine that is layed out well with good articles. There was a nice long interview with my favorite player, Daniel Negreanu.

Playing Above My Bankroll

OK I'm doing a terrible experiement. The last week I have been playing $2/$4 limit even though my BR doesnt support it. I decided if my roll dropped below $150 I will go back to normal limits. Outside of that I have been playing a little $25 PL omaha. Most my time is still involved in coaching my daughters softball team. We have 3 games this week, Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday.

Havent posted in like a week, been mad crazy. We had our first softball game last night and my girls won 10-8. Was a great time.

My BR is still about the same, havent played a whole lot, around $220.

I did book a trip to New York City to see my brother from June 15th - June 19th. There is a high chance we will goto the Borgata in Atlantic City for a day or two as well. Steve Miller Band is going to be playing there on the 16th so that would be just awesome to see them.
