Updated Leaderboard

Again, didnt play any poker yesterday except for the Negreanu Open on Pokerstars. The leaderboard has been updated with the tourney results and the link can always be found on the right in my list of links.

I did have a few extra hours added to my gamesgrid VFP which I played after midnight on Tuesday night. There were an extra 6.4 hours, most at the $3/$6 level so not I have 46.2 pending VFP hours for Sunday payment. By my estimates I now have a pending VFP bonus of $336.60.

5th in the Negreanu Open

I did not play any cash ring poker tonight, just the Negreanu Open. I finished 5th of 51. Two key hands that killed me I was all in preflop with KK vs AJ and an Ace spiked the river and last hand I had stack of about 4000 and raised 1200 (3x) from early position with A8 and chipleader pushed me all in by the chipleader. I called and my A8 was versus 95 which was good to see, but a 5 hit the flop and I never recovered and finished 5th for $40.80 ($29 profit).

Current BR - $1348

VFP Hours Corrected

Gamesgrid emailed me back and they fixed the hours problem, apparently this happened with everyone. I still think I am missing a few hours, but it probably will be posted tonight because they were played after midnight and will go on todays play.

So last night I officially played 25.6 table hours and I now have 39.8 total table hours between Monday and Tuesdays play of the following:

$1/$2 Dealers Choice - 4.6 hours ($13.80)
$1/$2 Hold Em - 0.4 hours ($1.20)
$2/$4 Dealers Choice - 3.5 hours ($21)
$2/$4 Hold Em - 12.2 hours ($73.20)
$3/$6 Hold Em - 19.1 hours ($171.90)

Current pending VFP Payment for Sunday - $281.10

Lots of Gamesgrid

I played over 30 table hours of Poker last night on Gamesgrid. I lost about $240 in play. I had over 400 fpps which converted to $80 this morning making the net loss $160. I played mainly $3/$6 with a little bit of $2/$4 mixed in. I should have earned over $200 in VFP $ last night. I went to check the VFP details on the site this morning and there is obviously a slight error as it says I have 159.1 total hours which is no wear close to being right (says 18.5 hours of $1/$2 DC, 13.9 hours of $2/$4 DC, 1.7 hours of $1/$2 HE, 48.8 hours of $2/$4 HE, and 76.2 hours of $3/$6 HE). If that was really correct (which its not) I would have a VFP payment coming of over $1100 already lol. I sent an email to support. I should have closer to 50 total hours.

14.2 VFP Hours on Monday

My 190 FPP points converted to $38 overnight as expected and my VFP hours updated to:

$1/$2 Dealers Choice - 3.8 hours ($11.40)
$1/$2 Hold Em - 0.4 hours ($1.20)
$2/$4 Dealers Choice - 0.7 hours ($4.20)
$2/$4 Hold Em - 2.3 hours ($13.80)
$3/$6 Hold Em - 7 hours ($63.00)

Total of 14.2 VFP hours accrued so far that will pay out on Sunday. $93.60 in VFP money for my play yesterday plus $38 in FPP. $131.60 in bonuses for 1 day. Not bad. I probably wont 6 table again because that was really extreme. Even if I can get $50 in VFP each day for the rest of the week it will still bring a pretty little $400 VFP payment on top of whatever I get in FPP.

Got a bunch of Poker Stuff Today

Well today was an interesting poker day. This morning I ordered my I-POD. I got home and my John Phan Cardplayer issue was waiting in the mail box along with my David Sklansk/Mason Malmuth "Hold'em Poker For Advanced Players" that I ordered free with my FPPs from Pokerstars a few weeks ago.

I also got my fathers day presents confirmed. My wife bought me two books: "Super System II" and "The Professor, The Banker, and The Suicide King".

I finally finished reading the last chapter of Aces and Kings, a very good read.

I took full advantage of the GamesGrid double VFP bonus and 6 tabled for 2 hours. Theres no question you can not focus your full attention and have your best game when 6 tabling, but I was hoping the bonuses would outweigh the difference. I ended up losing $1 whole dollar in actual play.

I got 6 table hours of $3/$6 at $9/hr which is $54, Got 2 table hours of $2/$4 at $6/hr which is $12, and got 4 table hours of $1/$2 Dealers Choice at $3/hr. I played another hour of $3/$6 this morning at lunch so should have about $87 in VFP accrued already. I'll update exact totals in the morning when it hits my account.

I also earned 190 FPP points which will convert to $38 tonight as well.

Just Ordered My IPOD

Well My Pokerroom and Absolute bonuses confirmed today with PSO so I got 30,000 points. I took 20,000 of those points and ordered a $200 Amazon Gift Certificate. Within 3 hours it was in my email box, talk about quick service! I immediately logged onto Amazon and ordered my 4GB IPOD mini, silver for $199 with free shipping and no tax. I should have it by the end of the week. I currently have 10,000 PSO points in my account and once my Bodog account confirms I will have 16,000. I am still working on Noble which will put it up to 22,000.

I am not sure who used me as a referral on PSO and is doing the Party Poker promo, but thank you! I think I get 2000 PSO points when you finish. Again if you are reading about all this Pokersourceonline stuff and want to sign up so you can get all this free stuff do I really appreciate you using me as a referral. Just enter 'dna4ever' as source when signing up.

I threw $400 back into GamesGrid so I can play it a lot this week and take advantage of the double VFP hours.

Gamesgrid VFP Payment & News

I got my $23 deposited from my FPP play on Grid yesterday and also got my VFP payment which was $62.22 for play at ...

14.85 hours at $1/$2 Dealer Choice
7.59 hours at $2/$4 Dealer Choice
5.72 hours at $2/$4 Hold 'em

Their newsletter gave awesome news. This entire week ALL their limit tables $1/$2 and up are going to be double VFP bucks which is awesome. Even though I am doing the noble promotion I believe all my play will be here this week, because its tough to beat that deal.

This means for every hour at the $1/$2 tables you earn $3/hr, $2/$4 you earn $6/hr, $3/$6 is $9/hr, and it caps out at $12/hr for the $5/$10 tables. My most likely scenario will be 2 tabling the 1/2, 1 tabling 2/4, and 1 tabling 3/6 which is $18/hr plus FPP.

If you a VFP member now is a great week to play. If your not on grid go sign up now! If you use me as a referral I will get 25% of your NET rakeback and I will split that with you 50/50. You can use the banner link on the right of just follow this link Sign up for Gamesgrid!

Started Noble Poker Promo

Just signed up for the Noble Poker Promotion, gotta get 1250 crowns. Deposited $300.

Lost $75 on Grid. Pretty damn bad overall poker day.

I do have 115 FPP points that will convert to $23 overnight on grid and tonight is VFP which should be another $30 or so. $500 downswing this weekend, ugh. Well at least I got my IPOD and will have another 15000 PSO points to buy something else (equivalent to $150).

Current BR - $1357

Started and Finished Bodog Promotion

I did the Bodog PSO promotion for another 6000 points. It absolutely kicked my ass worse then any site i have been on. I really wish I never started this stupid Bodog promo. I deposited $300 and by the time I even got 75 points I was already down $150. I switched from $3/$6 down to $2/$4 eventually down to $1/$2. I fnished the promo $225 stuck, but did finish the required 200 points.

Some PL Omaha and Grid

Last night I played some $100 PL Omaha on Pokerstars and made $50. I lost $40 on grid in play, but entered the VFP Freeroll tourney and finished 5th of 71 so earned exactly $40 which made up for my loss play there. I went out on a 3 way all in pot my 66 versus AK versus 55 and a 5 and hit the flop.

I got an email my Paradise PSO promotion has been confirmed so I shoul get my 6000 points in just a day or so then I am going to order my IPOD.

Completed Poker Room Promotion

Well this morning I made $150 in 50 hands which was the upside of variance. I guess the downside of variance wanted to show me how bad he could be and he totally destroyed me. I got some funds moved around and signed up for the Poker Room promotion. I had to get 400 Points to qualify. I 4 tabled $3/$6 for several hours and had nearly a 50bb downswing, lost $280. I am getting my money out of that place as soon as PSO verifies it. I used the upgrade coupon for this promotion too so I will get 9000 points.

Current Br - $1607

Unbelievable 50 Hand Session

I decided I would do a quick session this morning on Paradise to clear 50 more hands to get another $10 bonus since all my money is tied up on sites waiting to withdraw right now. I set down at 3 $2/$4 tables and counting the $10 bonus I netted $145! a 72bb/100 2/4 session, thats a nice upside look of variance.

There was one really nice hand where the pot got to $109 where I flopped a set of 2s with 2 hearts. There was like 4 or 5 people in the pot raising and a river heart came so I thought I was screwed for sure, but they held up.

Once I can extract some money I am going to start the Pokerroom PSO promotion.

Paradise Promo Complete

I went on a terror and played my other 650 required Paradise Poker hands. I was up a good $175 but must have got tired towards the end and called off quite a bit of my money. I still netted up $103 for the session and $155 for the entire site. I still have $30 of my bonus to clear which I will probably do tomorrow.

Now my dilema is I have all my money tied up in these sites. Pacific takes like 6 days, Absolute takes 48 - 72 hours, and Now I have $550 in Paradise too.

Hopefully PSO will verify this Paradise promo really quick and then I'll have my 21000 PSO points and I will then order my Apple IPOD

I think I am going to do the Pokerroom Promo next once I get some funds moved around. There is an upgrade code with the pokerroom that gives you 9000 PSO points instead of 6000 if you start it this month so thats what I'm gonna do.

I also played for about an hour on Gamesgrid and netted up $45 there.

Current BR - $1742

Absolute Promo Completed

Wow, was expecting it to take 10+ days for the Absolute Promo to complete, but it took less then 24 hours. I got 9000 PSO points because I used the upgrade code. Now I have 15,000 points and am still working on the Paradise Promo which is worth another 6000. That will give me the 21,000 I need for my 4GB Apple Ipod, sweet.

The Longest Yard and Parardise Poker

My wife and I went to the theater last night and watched The Longest Yard with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. It was a really funny movie and I would put on my recommend list. There was a preview for a movie coming out called The Wedding Crashers with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn that looks absolutely hilarious. Vince Vaughn could be one of my top 3 favorite actors along with Edward Norton and Giovanni Ribisi.

Since we got in fairly late I didnt get much poker in, but I did take time to start my Paradise Poker PSO (Pokersourceonline) promotion. I deposited $400 which qualifies for the max $100 deposit bonus. Their bonus releases $10 for every 100 raked hands. I signed up for 6000 more PSO points and need to rake 750 hands on Paradise to clear it. Last night I got exactly 100 hands in 3 tabling at $1/$2 Hold Em and proftted $42. I got $10 of the bonus as well so $52 profit night 25bb/100 hehe.

Our kids come back home today, yea! It was a good 3 week break, but I cant wait to see them. About 3 more weeks until our big Disney, Sea World, Kennedy Space Center, and Cocoa Beach vacation.

I completely forgot to update the Negreanu Open leaderboard so I will have to do that tonight.

Pacific and Absolute PSO Promos Completed

Well apparently the antes counted towards raked hands or something on Pacific, because I just got an email from PSO saying it was completed. I signed up for absolute, deposited $600 which qualified for a 50% bonus of $300 that is released $10 per 100 hands. I 3 tabled $2/$4 hold em and omaha hi/lo and raked my 300 hands (301 to be exact). Unfortunately I lost $97 doing it, but there was a PSO upgrade bonus so the absolute promo was worth 9000 points. Once those 2 clear that will give me 15000 and I am only 1 6000 promo away from getting my Apple IPOD. I understand it takes like 10 days for the absolute promo to clear. Now I have $500 of my money tied up on absolute because you cant withdraw until at least 48 hours from your deposit.

Pacific and Gamesgrid and Pokerstars Oh My

Last night I was multi-tabling 5 tables on 3 different poker sites for about 3 hours. I saw about 375 hands of $2/$4 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo on Pacific Poker. I got my ass handed to be there towards the end. I was up about $65 and by it was over I was down $110 which is a nasty swing in $2/$4. The river was just killing me and I would catch hands like A234 first for cards and never hit a high or lo hand, crazyiness!

Even thoughI saw about 375 raked hands in order to clear this PSO bonus a raked hand only qualifies as a hand that is raked in which you contributed to the pot. I contributed to 145 pots last night and you need 250 to clear the promo so I am well over half way there. I signed up for 6000 PSO points. Going to save my points and get an Apple I-POD which costs agbout 21,000 points.

I played in the Negreanu Open last night and placed 39th out of 56 so invested $11 there. I will get the leaderboard website updated tonight. The link can be found on my list of links to the right.

I 3 tabled on gamesgrid last night as well. Played $1/$2 Dealers Choice along with $2/$4 Dealers Choice and $2/4 Hold' Em. Had a pretty good session there and ended up $105 after the FPP bonus cleared. I have 13.2 table hours at grid right for this VFP period (8.1 at the $1/$2 and 5.3 for the $2/$4 tables) so currently looking at about a $28 VFP payment on Sunday.

I think I am going to sign up for the Absolute Poker PSO promotion after I clear the Pacific one.

Poker Source Online

I decided I would give this Poker Source Online (
Poker Source Online
) another shot. I signed up for it 3 or 4 months ago through the Instant Bankroll thing which gave me $100 free for partypoker. They really have a lot of good promotions. I still plan on doing the majority of my play through Gamesgrid, but I think I am going to move my Pokerstars business around to some of these other sites and work towards some bonuses. I dont plan on clearing them really fast, but I figure if I am going to play ring anyways I my as well be working towards some bonuses and prizes.

I did however screw up on this first promotion I signed up for which was with Pacific Poker. The bonus said 25% match up to $100 and I was thinking $25 max for $100 depo, not $100 bonus for $400 depo so I didnt deposit the full amount which I easily could have done. Instead I deposited $300 and got an immediate $75 bonus. After 250 raked hands (you have to contribute to the pot in order to count as a qualifying raked hand) I will earn 6000 PSO points on poker source online. You can use the PSO points to buy stuff from there store. I am going to save up and get an Apple IPOD I think. They run from 11000 to 21000 points depending on how many MB or GB of storage you want.

Some other gifts you can get immediately incase you don't want to save up your points are a free poker chip set (300 piece 11.5g), free poker table, free season 1 World Poker Tour DVD set, Free Kem set (includes 2 decks of Kem cards (the best you can buy!), 5 chip racks, a cut card, dealer button, and a partypoker hat), $50 gift card (your choice of Amazon.com, Ebay.com, Target.com, or Bestbuy.com), or a Free copy of Pokertracker.

I added a Pokersourceonline banner to the right of my blog. If you sign up with pokersourceonline use me as a referal (dna4ever) and I think I get some points or maybe some cash everytime you complete a promotion.

Good Session

Had a pretty good poker night I 3 tabled $2/$4 Hold Em on Pokerstars for about an hour and netted $110 profit. I entered a $5 + $0.50 mtt on stars and finished like 500 something out of 1200. I busted out when I had 99 and flop came down 89T and guy had JK and a 7 hit the turn.

I played some $1/$2 Dealers Choice and $2/$4 Hold Em on Gamesgrid for about an hour or two and made $70 there. I also earned 65 fpp points which is $13 in bonus.

Good profit night of $188

Back to Playing Online

Even though it was only 1 week that I stopped playing online it actually felt really weird playing again for some reason. When I first got back on gamesgrid I found myself making a lot of calls instead of folds or raises. Before I knew it I was down $65 at a $1/$2 dealers choice table, hmmmm.

I logged off grid and got on pokerstars and opened 3 $2/$4 Hold Em tables and played for about 90 minutes. I was able to to make $65

I got back on grid and played the $1/$2 and $2/$4 dealers choice tables for another hour and got back my $65 I had lost earlier there plus an additional $15.

I then played a $10 + $1 SnG on stars and finished 5th when I raised with A2 sooooted from the button in a high blinds steal attempt and got called with by 9T. Flop came A9T and I busted out.

After playing I updated the Negreanu Open leaderboard (http://home.comcast.net/~fullcontactpoker/leaderboard.html) I didnt get to play in this past Wednesdays tourney because I was in Atlantic City. I am barely hanging on to 4th overall position out of 113.

Atlantic City Trip Report

This is probably going to be a long post as I am just going to type out my entire trip as I remember it.

After working pretty much a full day on Wed my wife picked me up, we got some lunch at Wendy's, then she dropped me off at the airport. I had a non-stop flight from Nashville to Islip airport which took about 2 hours. It was 85 degrees in Nashville when we left and 65 in Islip when we got there, geeeeesh.

My brother and his wife picked me up in their brand new Lexus SUV which was just sick. It was all pimped out with the GPS Navigational system, Sirius Satellite radio, built in phone system to the stereo, camera built into the console that turned on when you were backing up to see what was behind you, etc etc. We left the airport and went to Applebees. I asked for a Steak with some mashed potatoes and gravy. The guy looked at me like I had flipped me lid and said they didnt serve gravy. WTF!? No gravy? Fuckin northerners.

Wed night we pretty much just hung out at my brothers house. He has a nice pool table so we played like 10 games then hung out in the hot tub for like 30 minutes which felt awesome cause it was so cool outside.

Thursday morning we got up, had breakfast, and started the drive to Atlantic City about 9:30 AM. Traffic was just insane, everyone in a hurry. I couldnt believe how many toll roads there were. I bet we hit 6 tolls on our way to AC, the main one leaving NY into Jersey was like $9.

We got into AC about 1:00 PM and checked into the Borgata which was VERY nice. I spent about 30 seconds to put my bags down in my room and headed straight for the poker room. Their poker room was VERY pimp. I was like 1:15 and the place was already packed on a Thursday. I didnt know what game to pick so I set at an open $3/$6 limit game. WOW, what a mistake. I have never seen more calling stations in my life. Every hand had at least 5 or 6 people the flop and you could be pretty damn sure that at least 2 people were calling to the river so if you didnt have the best hand you best not be in there.

I played 3/6 for about 4 hours and made $25 then we went to grab the buffet dinner before the Steve Miller Band concert. After paying $30 for a buffet we had about an hour before the SMB concert. My brother gets the bright idea he wants a beer, but doesnt want to pay for one so we go sit at a blackjack table to get a 'free' drink. Well 10 minutes later we each had our Heineken, I was up $5 and my brother was down $170 lol. That became the running joke for the rest of the trip. "So how is that $170 beer you cheap bastard that wouldnt pay $7 for one lol"

The Steve Miller Band was absolutely amazing. Old and still rocking. We were pretty much center stage, 5th row. They played all their hits and I was very pleased.

After the SMB concert I wasted about 20 seconds before I headed straight back down the the poker room. It was about 9:00 so there was a little waiting list. After waiting about 20 minutes my $6/$12 table was ready. I played $6/$12 for about 5 hours and profitted about $90. I had this character playing right beside me that thought he was a pro. He reminded me of Bill Fillmaff. He kept talking about the $80/$160 games he usually played and how he got all busted at the raid at the New York players club and lost $3000 he had in cash there, etc etc.

I got to bed about 2:00 AM and we got up at 9:00 AM and hit the breakfast buffet for another $20. After breakfast we got ready and took a cab over to the Tropicana. I called my Fullcontactpoker (FCP) friend elkang who I planned on meeting there and he was just leaving the Borgata as well. I set down around 12:00 and within 30 minutes we were sitting at the same $6/$12 table. I couldnt catch a hand during that 5 hour session and it seemed like every pot that elkang entered he won. I bet he played for maybe 2 or 3 hours and easily made $400 profit ($6/$12 game). I ended the session down $200, mainly due to one key hand that I am still going to bitch about until the day I die.

I had two black Kings on the button. UTG raises to $12 and late position makes it $18 to go, I capped the betting at $24. The blinds folded so we have $81 in the middle before the flop. The flop was an amazing K hearts K diamonds A hearts. HOLY SHIZIT! My heart was pounding so hard and I know I had 300 tells going off, but I didnt care, I flopped the quad kings and wasnt even thinking about how to extract the most money, I was just like I'm betting and raising everytime it gets to me. UTG bets $6, late raises it to $12, and I'm thinking you've got to be kidding me, wooohooo! I raise it to $18, UTG calls, late caps it, we both call.

Now we got $153 in the middle and the turn comes the 3 of hearts which is a GREAT card for me because it put 3 hearts on the board so if someone was playing the flush they just hit and would fall to my quad kings. Once again UTG bets $12, late raises to $24, I make it $36 to go and UTG caps at $48.

There is now $297 in the pot and I cant believe I am about to win the biggest live pot of my life. The river brought the Ace of clubs and my stomach dropped clear out of my body. I was 90% sure one of these 2 guys had AA and flopped aces full of kings else they wouldnt have been betting that way. UTG checked, late bet $12, I called, UTG called. Sure frickin enough late has AA and wins with quad aces over my quad kings and took down the $333 pot. UTG mucked, but I am pretty sure he must have made the nut flush and draw to the royal. It was one of the worst feelings ever. The entire table went absolutely nuts.

I took about a 10 minute break after that hand, came back and played a little bit longer then headed to meet my brother and his wife for 6:00 dinner reservations at a restaurant called Carmines. Carmines is a family style restaurant that brings these unbelievably sized portions and everyone eats from one platter. We had shrimp scampi with alfredo noodles and it was awesome.

After dinner I headed straight to the Borgata and by 8:00 I was sitting at the $6/$12 table again. I ended up playing til about 2:00 AM and lost another $300. Two main reasons I KNOW I lost. First was I started drinking. I probably had 6 Heinekens during that 6 hour period. The other reason I lost was because I got bored. It was my last night there and I wanted to play. I am so used to playing 4 or 5 tables online where I can see 300 hands an hour and am constantly in the action, but live I was only seeing like 35 hands an hour and I hated waiting like an hour to play a hand.

I found myself playing Daniel Negreanu style hands like 7T suited. There were 3 hands that really stick out in that last session. Two I think are bad beats and one was a bad beat I put on another guy.

First hand I had AK spades and flop came down TQ7 all spades. I flopped the nut flush and was one draw from the Royal. I was first to act and bet out $6 and it folded around to the BB who raised me $6, I felt he was trying to see if I was bluffing or not so instead of reraising right there I just called and decided I would make a move on the turn where the betting round was doubled. The turn brought a 9 of clubs. I checked to the raiser planning on reraising his bet, but he just checked behind me. Damn! I got outplayed hard. The river brought the 7 of clubs. I bet $12, he raised to $24, I reraised to $36, he capped at $48. He turns over 79 of hearts. You got to be shitting me, he runner runnered a full house. He played the hand pretty well and I know I got outplayed, but man that hand hurt.

The 2nd hand that really sucked, I was in the BB with 77. There was an early position raise and 2 callers so I also called the extra $6 to see a flop as I was getting nearly 1:9. The flop came down a beautiful 27K rainbow. To make a long story short my set lost to a runner runner spade flush.

This was my favorite hand of the entire night. It was about 1 AM and I was beginning to feel the effects of the alcohol. I was UTG and I picked up K3 offsuit. To most people this hand is absolutely junk, but to anyone that reads the FCP forum on a regular basis we call this hand the Krablar. It is really more of a fun hand that if you happen to get lucky with the cards and win you can easily tilt the other players and it definitely makes them more cautious of you cause you could literally be playing any two cards.

Well the Krablar is useless unless you raise with it. Now typically K3 offsuit UTG is not a raising hand lol, but I couldnt resist. I raised to $12 and got most people respected my UTG raise, but the two blinds decided to defend and called the $9 and $6 respectively.

The flop completely missed me as it came down 68T leaving a straight and flush possibility out there. The two blinds checked to me and I made my feeler $6 bet. The SB folded but the BB raised me. My first reaction was like shit, but then I was like what am I thinking? I have the fricking Krablar, so I reraise (representing an overpair), BB calls. The turn brings my beautiful King. BB checked, I bet, he called. The river brought my 3. LOL It was really unbelievable, I was laughing inside so hard. He checked again and I bet, he called and looked at me to show my hand. I turn over the K3 for two pair and the dude went ballistic man. I swear he blew up. He threw his TA (had flopped TPTK) on top the chips, his face turned red, and he looked at me with pure raw anger. I simply looked back at him, raised both my hands in the air and said "Pinch Pinch" as I closed my fingers together in a pinching motion right to his face. The guy literally kicked his chair back against the wall, left his chips on the table, and stormed off somewhere. I only played for about 30 more minutes after that and that guy still wasn't back by the time I left lol. OH the power of the Krablar, it was absolutely beautiful.

Around 1:30 AM I am content with the fact I lost $400 playing like 20 hours of poker cause I had a great time. Then I made the worst mistake of my trip. I stopped by the blackjack tables on my way back to the room. I set down in a semi-drunken stooper at the $25 minimum table. By 3:30 AM I managed to lose $100 and decided to finally go to sleep.

I left the Borgata with $4 of my $700 left. $500 to gambling and $200 to stuff like food, drinks, and souvenirs for the family. I have to say it was one of the best times I've had in a long time and I really didnt care about the money so much as I had already put in my mind the fact I was OK with losing it. I am not going to lie, would have been much better coming home a winner, but regardless it was a great experience.

So left the Borgata Saturday morning and got back to my brothers house in Long Island about 3:00. We stopped by the butcher shop and picked up some Filet Mignon, fresh corn on the cob, and potatoes. We grilled out and had a great feast.

Sunday morning we went out on my brothers best friends boat. We went out on the bay and boated to the Hamptons. We spent like an hour looking at these $5 - $20 million dollar summer homes. They were truely unbelievable. We got pulled over by a Police Boat for a 'safety inspection'. The guy had everything, but the required 3 emergency distress flares so he got a $25 summons, crappy! We got back to the dock about 1:30 and I was off the the airport for my 5:00 flight back to Nashville. I got in around 7:00 and my wife and I did a fathers day dinner. I crashed by 10:00 and was up and at work this morning by 7:00 AM. What a trip!

I got my gamesgrid newsletter and made $16.96 for my little bit of play I did last Monday before I left. Heres how my hours broke down:

2.77 hours at $1/$2 2-7 Triple-Draw Lowball
2.66 hours at $1/$2 Dealer Choice
5.88 hours at $1/$2 Hold 'em

My bankroll is going to need to be revived, back to $2/$4 max for awhile I guess.

Atlantic City Here I Come!!!

Well the big day is here! My flight leaves close to 5:00 today for New York. I will be staying with my brother in New York tonight and first thing Thursday morning we are driving to the Borgata in Atlantic City. Thursday will be a full day of poker followed by 2nd row seats to the Steve Miller Band in concert then some more poker. Friday the plan is to get up, hit the boardwalk, then play some poker at the Trop. We have nice dinner reservations Friday evening then back to the Borgata for another night long poker session. Saturday will be going back to New York and I fly back to Nashville on Sunday. I am taking $700 from my bankroll to gamble with. I am fully prepared to lose this entire $700 as I will be playing games way out of my bankroll limit ($5/$10 or $6/12 probably). This is a once a year thing for me so I am going more to have fun then to practice proper bankroll management. If I do lose it all I still have a $2/$4 online bankroll and can start building it back up again. I'll give a full blog report on Monday. For now I have to make it through pretty much a full day of work. My flight leaves in 10 hours, I'll be at the airport in 8. I did not get any poker in last night because I was doing busy doing other stuff.

Well I am getting VERY excited for my Atlantic City trip. My flight leaves for New York in 27 hours. I gotta full evening this evening, gotta get the grass mowed, weeds cut, bags packed, etc etc.

Ended up having $17 added to my grid account when my FPP updated this morning. I did get 11.4 hours in so I'll get around $17 or $20 VFP payment on Sunday since I only played the $1/$2 tables.

Got my weeks VFP hours in and the $5 MTT

Since tonight and tomorrow are the only two nights I will get to play poker this week because I am flying out to Atlantic City on Wednesday I decided to go ahead and get my 10 required VFP table hours in. I 4 tabled some $1/$2 tables for nearly 3 hours, by my calulations I got somewhere around 11.6 hours. I netted $40 in play plus got 84 fpp points ($12).

I entered the $5 + $0.50 $500 guarantee MTT tourney on gamesgrid too. 74 people played tonight. Finished 16th, 7 out of the money.

June 12th VFP Payment

Dear dna4ever,

This is your VFP News for the week starting June 6, 2005.

$76.56 was credited to your account for the following play:

3.25 hours at $1/$2 2-7 Triple-Draw Lowball
21.62 hours at $1/$2 Dealer Choice
5.89 hours at $2/$4 Dealer Choice
0.75 hours at $5/$10 Dealer Choice
0.65 hours at $1/$2 Hold 'em
0.57 hours at $2/$4 Hold 'em
0.64 hours at $3/$6 Hold 'em
2.57 hours at $1/$2 Omaha High/Low
0.54 hours at $1/$2 Razz

Also cleared $9 in FPP. Today is 1 day shy of a full month that I have been on Gamesgrid (my first deposit was May 14th). In this first month I have cleared $382 of my $5000 deposit bonus, won $15 in VFP freerolls, and received $517.13 in VFP Payments for a total in Gamesgrid bonuses received this month of $914.13! If I keep a similiar level of bonuses (which I probably wont because a lot of that VFP $ was from double $ hours) that would be $11,000 a year in bonuses.

If your not on grid now is the time to sign up. If you sign up with me as your referral souce (Click This Link) I will get 25% of your NET rake back and I will then in turn split that with you 50/50 so you can even make more bonus money!

First one is I had AJ and raised it 1 caller, 2 AAQ turn J. Reraise city, other guy ofcourse has AQ. 2nd hand I have 44 and hit my trips on the flop, lots of action and guy runner runners heart flush on me, $132 pot, ARGH!

Date Night

What a great night. The kids are still with their grandparents for another 2 weeks. Cant remember the last time the wifey and I had a full night out and not had to worry about babysitters, etc. We went out for a nice dinner at a restaurant here called O'Charleys. I had a a Pilsner, nice salad, baked potato, and full rack of barbecue ribs, yummmmmm.

We then headed to watch Star Wars 3 at the Regal IMAX. Even thought it wasnt in actual IMAX, it was awesome to watch it on the huge IMAX screen. What a great great movie.

After the movie we headed to the local bowling alley where I kicked my wifes ass 155 to 65. Then we headed to the local game room and played $10 worth of video games. Basketball, racing, skee ball, etc.

After that we headed to a little pub and drank some Heinekens. Got in and my wife went straight to bed so I played about 30 minutes on Stars ($2/$4) and Gamesgrid ($1/$2 DC and $1/$2 27 tripledraw lowball). Was a good 30 minute session, netted $53.

Sat Morning Session | VFP Freeroll

Woke up and played the Gamesgrid VFP freeroll. I finished 49th out of like 88. I had AJ and flop came down AA3, other guy had AK, end of story.

I played a $2/$4 table on stars for 60 minutes and netted $35 and I played a $1/$2 DC, $1/$2 Omaha Hi/Lo, and $2/$4 DC table on grid for an hour and netted up $40 there so a nice $75 hour morning session.

Probably wont be playing much today. Wife gets off work at 4:00 today and we are going to do dinner and a movie (Star Wars 3) then head downtown to do some 'clubbin'. We love to go watch people make fools of themselves at karaoke. Especially here in Nashville where everyone thinks they are a star.

This is a 'funny' hand I wanted to share. Anytime you are multitabling AND playing Dealers Choice you have to pay extra special attention to what game you are playing. Here is a hand of Razz that was played today. For those that dont know Razz just like 7 card stud except the worst hand wins, you get 2 down, 5 up, and 1 more down and play worst 5 cards. Straights and Flushes dont count and Aces are low so best hand is A2345.

Well this hand I had a prety decent starting hand 652. This is a game of perception and influence and a 2 showing is good. The long story short (see full raise history below) is I had like 297 showing and another guy had JTJ showing and he kept reraising me and capping out the betting. You can see below I even say "u know this is razz right?" LOL he continued to bet every street and proudly showed his 3 pair, Aces, Tens, and Jacks hehe while I showed my pretty 23567 and took down the $46.50 pot. After the fact I realized I missed a good 2 or 3 bets.

Got about 2 table hours in of $2/$4 at pokerstars and made $30 and got several hours in at grid between the $1/$2 Dealers Choice tables, 27 Triple Draw LowBall, Omaha Hi/Lo and some $2/$4 DC and few minutes of $3/$6 hold em as well. Hit a really bad 3/6 session again down about $65, but made it up in dealers choice and lowball. Netted a grid profit of $35 ($15 from FPP). Total day netted up $65 plus some VFP hours.

How NOT to play Pocket Aces Shorthanded

It never ceases to amaze me how attached people get to their pocket aces. I mean it seems like people are willing to sell their house in order to call down a hand to the river with their aces.

This was a hand that happened about 10 minutes ago and I thought it was a good teaching tool. I was playing a $1/$2 shorthanded (6 player) limit game.

Picked up big slick suited (clubs) UTG and raise it. I get a caller from late and the small blind completes, 3 way action. Flop comes 7c Qd Jh. Not a terrible flop for me cause I still have to overs, a straight draw, and the nut backdoor flush draw. Small blind bets into me (I'm thinking he hit a pair of queens or jacks), I smooth call, and late calls as well. Turn comes the magical Tc giving me the nut straight and also a draw to the nut flush. SB fires out first again, I reraise, late folds, he reraises me again, I know right now there is no hand that can have be beat, but am thinking he may have trips now a draw to the fullhouse, I reraise and cap the turn betting, he calls. River brings a blank 4s. Once again he bets out, I reraise, he reraises again (now I'm thinking posible split pot cause he could have AK too), but I cap the raises and he calls. I turn over the AK nut straight and he mucks AA.

Are you kidding me? AA is a strong hand in a 6 handed match, but reraising every street is just terrible. Even some garbage hand like 47 would have him beat.

Here is the hand as it played out ... http://www.pokerhand.org/index.php?page=view&hand=74002

I only played for 10 minutes because was at lunch, but scrouged up $30 in about 3 orbits (18 hands). Thats 83.25 bb/100 lol.

Last Softball Game and "Kicking and Screaming"

Last night was the last softball game of the year. My kids are still at their grandparents so it was just me Coaching with 10 other moody 11 year old girls. We finish the season at a whopping 4 and 11 record lol, but hey damnit, we had fun!

After the game my wife and I went and watched "Kicking and Screaming". The movie was just fitting after the softball season I had. For those that havent seen it, it stars Will Ferrell and he takes on the duty to coach his sons Soccer team which is a bunch of misfits. There were so many things in the movie I kept saying "OMG, that was sooo me this year".

I am 3/4's the way through my Aces and Kings book, what a great read for any poker fan. Great stories about the best players to play or to have played the game. I am reading the Women of Poker chapter now.

Well I fly out next Wednesday for New York then my brother and I are driving up to Atlantic City to stay Thursday and Friday night at the Borgata.

I decided I am taking $700 out of my online bankroll to play with. I plan on playing $5/$10 or $6/$12 games while there.

I just had a +$40 winning $2/$4 session on pokerstars and a +$45 winning $2/$4 session on gamesgrid.

We have our last softball game of the year tonight then I think my wife and I are going to finally go to the theater and watch the new Star Wars movie.

Who Actually Reads This Blog? | GamesGrid Nightly $500 Guarantee MTTs

Well I have 20 hours of data about the hits coming to my blog and thought they were kinda neat so I would share them with you.

In the last 20 hours I have had 115 hits amongst 37 unique visitors.

53.1% of you use Internet Explorer, 43.36% use Mozilla (go Firefox!), 2.65% of you use Netscape, 0.88% use Safari (what the hell is that?) 93% of the people who visited are using Microsoft XP, the other percentages are mixed between 2000, 98, Linux, and 1 lone MAC'er. 2:00 in the afternoon and 10:00 and night were the two busiest traffic times.

Anywho, just thought that was neat stuff. Maybe I'll start giving a week end report blurp in my blog about # visitors, etc. I didn't realize so many people were reading this. I think you all are just waiting for me to go on a drunken binge and blow my entire bankroll. Well, thats very possible.

Got my 10 total Gamesgrid VFP hours now so will be playing in this weekends VFP freeroll tourneys on Saturday and Sunday. Again these are 2 freerolls that Gamesgrid hosts every week for every VFP member that hits their 10 hour minimum. They are usually NL HE tourneys, but last week they threw in a wrench and made it Dealers Choice. Not sure what they will be this week, but they both start at 11:30 AM EST Sat. and Sun.

Gamesgrid is currently offering NIGHTLY $500 Guarantee Prizepool $5+$0.50 Multi Table Tournaments (MTTs). They start at 23:00 EST. I played in the one last night and busted out like 45 out of 66 when I pushed my 44 in versus 10K and the guy ran a backdoor straight for the Ace high straight, doh! Last night there were only 66 people which means grid donated $170 out of pocket for the prizepool, definitely another +EV opportunity for gridders. They will need to get 100+ people to even cover the minimum prizepool so come on and join up and play these nightly tourneys with me.

Added Hit Counter To Blog

I signed up with bravenet, because they have a bunch of cool stuff for free. I added a hit counter at Noon CST today (06/07/05), because I am curious to the traffic this blog gets since I had 20 referrals on gamesgrid in 2 weeks. Its a pretty cool hit counter that has poker card suits and is located at the bottom right of the blog below the Archives links.

My 90 FPP became $18 on grid this morning and I got my VFP summary report and yesterday I ended up playing ...

1.3 hours of $1/$2 2-7 Triple-Draw Lowball
0.1 hours of $1/$2 Razz
0.7 hours of $1/$2 Hold'em
2.6 hours of $1/$2 Dealers Choice
1.2 hours of $2/$4 Dealers Choice
0.5 hours of $3/$6 Hold'em
0.6 hours of $5/$10 Dealers Choice

Little mix of everything on the grid

Just played for a few hours about every possible mix of poker out there. Played the $1/$2, $2/$4, and the $5/$10 dealer choice tables, played the $1/$2 razz table, played the $1/$2 2-7 tripledraw lowball table, played the $1/$2, $2/$4 and $3/$6 holdem tables too. Didnt stay long at each table. $3/$6 hold em kicked my ass. Loss like $125 there, made that $125 back up at the $5/10 DC tables. Overall I netted up only $9, but worked up 90 fpp points ($18 in morning) and probably got a good 5 VFP table hours in. This week the 2-7 and razz tables are the VFP double point tables. So far I am not very fond of 2-7 triple draw lowball, but its just my first time playing it so I'll give it another chance. I actually won $3 at it so I'm a winner in the game thus far!

Weekend Update - No Kids! | Partypoker Bonus | VFP

What a busy weekend. After working my usual 10 hour Friday my wife and I loaded up our 2 kids and made the near 6 hour drive into Kentucky to drop the kids off to stay with their grandparents for 3 weeks. They are starting with my parents for 10 days then heading to my wifes parents for 10 days. 3 weeks without kids! I'm lost!

I got home about 5 on Sunday and we grilled out some hotdogs. I got online and noticed that Partypoker had their June reload bonus going. It is a 25% reload bonus up to $150 ($600 max deposit). I deposited the full $600 and needed to rake 1050 hands to release it.

http://www.partypoker.com/offers/deposit_25_150-bonusjun.htm

Generally anytime I am trying to work a bonus off at partypoker I always 4 table the $1/$2 tables and I did that for the first 500 hands. I found myself down $120 in the first 3 hours. To be honest I am not sure if I was playing bad or wasnt catching cards, but either way it wasnt good. Then I realized I have a bigger bankroll now so I jumped up to the $3/$6 tables. I ended up getting in all 1050 raked hands and released the $150 bonus. I managed to make about $60 back at the $3/$6 tables so ended up losing $60 all together, but netting a $90 profit because of the bonus.

Check out these 3 hands. There were 3 different hands where I had JJ and flopped trips. All 3 times someone else had pocket Aces and hit A) Trip Aces over my trip jacks, B) Aces full over my Jacks full), and C) 4 aces over my Jacks full! Talk about sickening, these 3 hands cost me $130. Feel free to post any comments if you felt I could have played them any different.

http://www.pokerhand.org/index.php?page=view&hand=71896

http://www.pokerhand.org/index.php?page=view&hand=71897

http://www.pokerhand.org/index.php?page=view&hand=71898 - I was slow playing these a little and planning to re-raise the river, but the ace fell and left 4 to the straight out so I didnt.

Theres usually not too many things to look forward to on Monday mornings, but overnight on Sundays Gamesgrid always sends out their VFP newsletter. I didnt get to play much on Grid this week, but I did still manage to play enough to get a $117.61 VFP payment! Here was the breakdown ...

17.14 hours at $1/$2 Dealer Choice (showcase room double pay)
0.49 hours at $2/$4 Dealer Choice
0.23 hours at $3/$6 Dealer Choice
5.07 hours at $5/$10 Dealer Choice (showcase room double pay)
0.56 hours at $1/$2 Hold 'em
0.69 hours at $2/$4 Hold 'em

This week the VFP showcase rooms are the $1/$2 and the $5/$10 Razz and Triple-Draw Lowball tables.

9 more days until my Atlantic City /Borgata trip!

Current BR is at an all time high - $1922

Gamesgrid Affiliate Rakeback Report

OK heres the deal. I got my anxiously awaited Rakeback report from Gamesgrid overnight. A couple of things that were realllllllly interesting. The most interesting thing to me was I had exactly 20 (count em TWENTY) gamesgrid referrals this period.

I have only been on gamesgrid since May 14th so 20 referrals in 2 weeks, very cool. THANK YOU to each person that signed up under me. I only had like 10 people contact me previous to signing up and I told I would split their rake 50/50, but if your on the list I'm still splitting with you. I am assuming that all these referrals came from people either A) reading my blog or B) reading my posts on the FCP forum.

So now onto the actual rake news. Of the 20 players that signed up with me, 11 didnt play any at all (either no action or used free chips).

From the 9 people that did play real money games 5 of those players actually had a NEGATIVE rake which means I (nor you) collected/will collect any rakeback this period. I was at first a little saddened by the negative rake then I found the positive side of it. For every 25% I am not getting back that means you are saving 75% because the house is giving you more then you are giving them. We all know that gamesgrid has some outstanding promotions with their $5000 depo bonus and VFP so if you have a negative rakeback its a really good thing from the standpoint that you 'beating the house' and we all know in the casino world that doesnt usually (ok EVER) happen.

So this leaves us with 4 players that played real money and actually earned rakeback. From the 4 people left I received a total payment of $65.61 and after my 50/50 split I get to keep $32.79 and give back $32.82. Thanks again to all the people who signed up with me. Below is a report of all the users (and there are some hilarious names!) I also am going to put below a few of the applicable Frequently Asked that I received in my affiliate report.

Players that had a positive rake and will receive some rakeback (amount in parentheses is your 50% of the 25% I received)- Dagg111 ($18.46), FloppyNuts ($9.86), Monoatomic ($3.78), xthesteinx ($0.72). Stein just so you know the mininum transfer on grid is $1 so I will add this $0.72 to your next months payment.

Players that had a negative rake - afan002, DrawOnMyNuts, ejay, JaysonWeber, theresa113

Players that had no activity - cflames, GTKID, halvey18, joeburke1217, Mall, Maxq32,
opella, rybittle, TXstateEN, wrongshui

Here are 3 good FAQ's that they put in my report ...

Q: Why are the net rakes so low?
A: This could be for many reasons. The player you referred might not have played very much or they may have chosen games with very little rake, for example. But the most likely reason is that GamesGrid Poker is offerring some exceptional promotions during our grand opening phase, and this returns most of, and sometimes more than the total rake back to our players. Players with low net rake are probably taking advantage of these promotions.

Q: Why do some players have a negative net rake?
A: The grand opening promotions that GamesGrid Poker is currently offerring return most of, and sometimes more than, the rake we collect back to our players. In many cases, these promotional payments exceed the total rake paid by a player, so their net rake is negative.

Q: How do players' net rakes go DOWN?
A: This report shows lifetime net rake for the players you refer. In some cases, a player's lifetime net rake will decrease from one month to the next for the same reason that a player might have a negative net rake.

Softball and Quick 30 Minute Session

Got home, took the family to Arbys for some Roast Beef sandwiches then headed off to our softball game. My daughter plays pitcher and center field, my son is the batboy, my wife keeps the scorebook, and I am the head coach. These games are always quite the great family time. Unfortunately we lost tonights game.

I got home and got in a quick 30 minute session in at Gamesgrid. About 30 minutes at $1/$2 Dealers Choice and about 30 minutes at $2/$4 dealers choice. I lost $3 at the $2/$4 and won $27 at the $1/$2 so $24 net 30 minute session plus got about 9 fpp.

Heading out of town this weekend, taking the kids to their grandparents to stay for 3 weeks. Will be back on Sunday so no more poker this weekend.

Negreanu Open Leaderboard

Last night was week #2 of the fullcontactpoker.com forums Negreanu Open on Pokerstars. After finishing 1st last week I defended my title this week beautifully by finishing 35th out of 47! LOL

We are going to get the leaderboard up on JaysonWeber's (forum mod) website (http://www.jaysonweber.com) soon, but the site is still under construction.

Until them I threw up a temporary leaderboard page which can be found at .. http://home.comcast.net/~fullcontactpoker/leaderboard.html

I 4 tabled at games grid for a little over an hour, 2 tables of $1/$2 Dealers Choice and 2 tables of $5/$10 dealers choice. After my fpp update I netted a hours profit of $62 plus accrued an additional $30 towards my VFP payout on Sunday. Up to 23.2 table hours on grid this week.

I am still waiting on my rakeback email from Gamesgrid to see if I made any money there. I have a deal where I split 50/50 of whatever I get with the person whos rake I collect. So if you signed up under me on grid I will be getting with you as soon as I hear something myself. If you are still not on grid and want to use me as a referral I will also split rakeback with you. Heres a link to sign up ... Games Grid

I probably will not get in anymore poker this week or weekend. We have a softball game tonight and then after work tomorrow I am taking the kids on the 6 hour journy to northeast kentucky to stay with their grandparents for 3 weeks and I am going to spend the weekend there myself. 3 weeks with no kids! What ever will I do!?

My Atlantic City - Borgata trip is in 2 weeks, getting really psyched for that.

Late Late Late Night NL Session

One of those sleepless nights again and I decide I'm gonna play 'a little' more poker. Its like 1 AM in the morning when I get the hankerin' (thats southern slang for feeling) to play a cash NL game. I havent played a cash NL game in probably 2 months. Keep in mind I have to get up every morning at 6 am to be at work by 7am.

So I plop down at a a $100 NL table and for the first 30 minutes I'm just really trying to get the feel of the table and mainly folding everything waiting on that 'perfect hand'. Its been like 100,000 hands of limit since I have played NL so the adjustment felt weird. Well I wasnt' getting any cards and I noticed the table was really loose. Now I've always read that when a table is loose you are suppose to play tight, but at 1:30 AM I just really wanted to play some hands so I also loosened up my starting requirements.

I was down about $12 when this key hand comes up....

I am UTG with 6c8c and call the $1 BB (every book in America will tell you to fold this hand in this position, but lets forget that for a minute)

I get 3 calls behind me, the SB completes, and the BB checks so 5 way action going into the flop (no raises which was good)

The flop comes down a BEAUTIFUL 5h9c7s rainbow for the nut straight.

The small blind bets the minimum $1 (into $6) pot, BB folds, I smooth call hoping he had a big hand or someone left to act would smell weakness from his bet or my call and try to come over the top.

Action goes fold, fold, Late position makes it $3 to go. The SB reraises $5 to go! I smooth call the $4 to me trying to compose myself. After I smooth call Mr. Late position doubles the bet again and reraises it up $10 to go! WOO! The SB must have been running a bluff as he folded out so I once again smooth call the $5 to me and we now have 2 way action going into the turn.

Turn comes 8s which is a scare card for that board as it puts a higher straight draw and also a backdoor flush draw possibility out there. With all that action on the flop I have this guy pegged on an overpair or a set.

I check the turn and he bets $20 to me. Incase he is does have a draw to a higher straight or the flush I decide to make my move here and push my stack all in! $57 more to go, $77 bet. (Going all in is such a rush! You're heart starts pounding and the adrenaline gets pumping, WOW what a feeling at 2 am!)

The timer starts ticking and this guy is seriously in the think tank. At this point I am pretty sure I have the best hand, but think he could have a draw or redraw. After 45 seconds he makes the call.

The river brings the Jh and he mucks. I take down the $185 pot. After checking the pokerstars hand history he had 55 for a set of 5s.

Here is the way the hand played out in a prettier format .... http://www.pokerhand.org/index.php?page=view&hand=69619

I managed to lose about $35 after that hand and called it quits about 2:30 AM with my $50 profit. Got up this morning at 6:15 AM and here I set with my big 4 hours sleep.

I also got my gamesgrid VFP update and I played 3.8 table hours of $1/$2 Dealers Choice and 2.3 table hours of $5/$10 Dealers Choice so I have exactly 18 VFP hours accrued for a current estimated Sunday payment of $74.10
