Finally some poker

Last night I finally played some poker, it seems like its been a week.

I played in the Negreanu Open and busted 70 something out of 120. The tournament was just not meant to be. I got rivered after all the money was in twice, once to a 5 outter and last time to a 2 outter. Was just rough.

I lost about $160 playing $2/$4 short handed and was just getting raped! I've never seen such horrible rivers. I bumped up to $3/$6 for a chance of pace and won back about $90 of that then I played some NLHE cash which I really never do, but managed to win $57 there too so all and all it was pretty much a break even night.

FCP Indianapolis Weekend

Havent really played any poker this past week, been kinda nuts around home.

This weekend my wife and I drove to Indianapolis to meet several of our friends from Fullcontactpoker.com. Had an absolute blast.

ARGH - I suck at this game!

Took about a $350 downswing this weekend, probably played 25 table hours of $3/$6 and a few hours of $5/$10. I was actually down as much as $600 at my worst point and came back and won $250. The deck was laughing at me.

I 3 tabled some $3/$6 last night and also had a $5/$10 table going. I played for about 90 minutes and ended up + $80.

Cleared Pokerstars Bonus

Cleared the Pokerstars $120 Reload Bonus.

Donked out 40th of 114th in the Negreanu Open when I just made a ridiculous call with 66 on a 77K board.

Live and Die by the River in Shorthanded

I got simply crushed yesterday 2 tabling $3/$6 short handed. It was almost as like the Poker Gods were telling me dont ever get to confident in yourself. I was getting a rush of premium starting hands, but they were all falling a part by show down. I was on a $280 downswing at my worst point, but worked back $80 of it before I finally quit down $200. I lost three seperate $80 pots when outkicked with trips like JQ versus JK on 3J7 board J turn, etc. Just horrible. Well what doesnt kill you will make you stronger I guess.

I also played in the Fullcontactpoker Freeroll Challenge last night and finished 1st, but it turns out that one of the other teams had 2 players playing so the entire match was voided and all was for not, bleh.

I only need 55 more Frequent Player Points on Pokerstars to clear my $120 bonus so that will help a little.

Tennessee Rounders Bar League

Interesting, I found out that my local bar has a Monday night Hold Em Bar League that runs on a point system advancing to different places and final destination being Tunica. There were only 3 weeks left in this leaderboard so I really dont have a chance to make it this leaderboard period, but I went down to the bar to check it out. There were to tournaments one at 6:30 and one at 9:00

The first game was 46 people and I quickly found out the play was horrendous. 2nd hand of the night I picked up 10-10 in mid position and a guy went all in preflop (4000 starting chips). I was like wtf and layed it down and another guy called with Aces and the all in guy had 33. WOW. The blinds made it a crap shoot. Only 4000 in starting chips and after the first hour we were already at 500/1000 blinds.

I ended up finishing 3rd in the first tournament when we were 3 handed the blinds were 20,000/40,000 and there were only 184,0000 chips in the entire tournament so 1/3rd all the chips were in the blinds before the cards were even dealt, just ridiculous.

The 2nd tournament I busted out 22 or 23 out of 45 ish when My AQ ran with AQ flop went against JK and the guy flushed me on the river, bleh. All in all it was fun, but was really a card catching contest.

Planning Tunica Trip for March 25th | Sports Starting

I'm heading down to Tunica MS on Saturday March 25th and playing all day Saturday and coming back Sunday evening. Going to meet up with a few of my couple friends from Fullcontactpoker. Got people coming in from Nashville, Atlanta, Oklahoma City, and Indianapolis for sure.

Sunday night I played 2 or 3 more hours of $3/$6 short handed and worked off another 230 FPP points of my pokerstars bonus so I know have 450 out of my required 600 to release the $120 bonus. I played about 300 hands and left up $95 which was a good 5bb/100 session.

Both my kids sports are starting. This is the first year my son is playing Baseball and he is so excited. They had 2 practices so far this past week. My daughter is playing softball again this year and has about 10 of the same girls returning to her team again so she is excited. I am not coaching this year, but I am staying on the softball board. This will give me more flexibility to attend my sons practices and games as well.

Nice weekend ring session | Pokerstars Reload Bonus

Pokerstars has a 20% reload deposit bonus going on right now for their 2006 WSOP promotion so I deposited $600 to qualify for the full $120. Have to earn 600 frequent player points to clear it.

Played about 3 hours of $3/$6 on Saturday and Sunday, some full ring and some shorthanded. I cleared about 220 of my 600 fpps and ended up about $200.

Grinding some Ring

Wednesday I dropped about $80 at $3/$6 and Thursday I dropped about $60 more at $3/$6, but had a winning $240 session at $5/$10. I busted out 78th in the Negreanu Open last night when my AQ went against JJ, ace on the flop, but a Jack on the river after all the money was already in. Up $100 in last 2 days.

Couple hours of $3/$6

I 4 tabled full ring $3/$6 for about an hour or so and ended up getting my ass kiced, down $180. I lost one really big pot with the 2nd nut King high flush to the Ace high and another hand I horribly misplayed with AQ when up against KK.

I decided to switch gears and play some $3/$6 short handed and ended up getting back $80 of the $180 so ended the night $100 down.

STOP PLAYING ABOVE YOUR BANKROLL DUMBASS!

So things started out swell on Friday when I decided to play "a little" above my bankroll and I 4 tabled some $5/$10 for about an hour and had a GREAT session, up $300. Well for some reason I decided to 'invest' that $300 into a $15/$30 table to 'take a shot'. I didnt play bad at the table I just didnt pick up hands. In fact I only won 2 hands the entire hour session and found myself back down that $300 plus $200 more! GRRR I'm an idiot.

The rest of the weekend I spent grinding back at my normal $3/$6 limits and managed to make back about $175 of the $200 I lost so all in all I only lost about $25 this weekend, but if I wouldnt have played that stupid $15/$30 game I would be up $475. Ah well. I'm a dumbass.

Some $3/$6 and a $50+$4 MTT

Yesterday I 4 tabled some $3/$6 full ring on FCP for about an hour and netted up $44 session when I left. I then took that money and entered the Long Kiss Goodnight $50+$4 MTT, had 201 people I busted around 120th when my KK got cracked my 34 soooooooted. Who calls 4x preflop raise with 34? BAH!

I then played about 20 minutes of $3/$6 short handed and won $96 so had a +$86 day.

Few Tournies and Some Ring

I busted out 54th ish in the Negreanu Open last night when I made a bad read and thought I could get a guy to lay down a hand with my representing the flush. Only problem was he had a set of Aces and not going anywhere.

I started another little $5 SnG for some FCP people and about 11 of us played in that. I busted out 4th with A3 versus 58 on a board of A243x. The 58 hand had raised preflop so I didnt put him on a 5 at all, nice hand.

I played some $3/$6 shorthanded on Pokerstars for about 45 minutes and won $48 so overall.
