Ummmmm I just Rode a Crazy Rush

So I decide to sit down for 30 minutes during my lunch today @ the $25/$50 table on FCP.

SWEEET! I've never had a rush like that. Basically there were 3 hands that got paid off very well, hit a straight, hit a set, and had kings hold up. vs AK that was betting like a maniac.

$100 Live Tourney | Live Cash Game | Some 25/50

So I played in my $100 tourney last night and bubbled in 4th place.

Not too many interesting hands .... I had AK of diamonds and there was a raise and a reraise in front of me, but both were min raises so I called. Flop comes 47T with 2 diamonds. The reraiser bets about 1/3rd the pot and I push hoping to take the pot down and if not I got the nut flush draw and hopefully 2 overs, but they could be dead if he has AA or KK. Well this guy instacalls with 77, doh! The J of diamonds hit on the turn and the board never paired on the river so I was good.

Another hand I was playing against a VERY loose aggressive player and he pops it up preflop adn I called with JQ sooooted. Flop JQK. He bets I call (I should have pushed). Turn comes a 3 he bets I call. River comes another 3 and he pushes the last 2000 he has into about 7500 pot. He had AK and the running 3s counterfeited me.

I busted when I got short and made a move with A5, called by 77 and game over.

We played a 5/10 cash game with 10/20 over buttons. Played LHE and LO8. I just got destroyed and lost about $330 in that game. There were 2 or 3 sick rivers that took away very large pots from me. Easily 3 hands away from being even in that game. I will be first to admit O8 is one of my worst games. I even mucked a good low and apparently missed a call when I had A rag rag rag and the board was all low. Guy was betting $20s and I just folded my top pair and he 25only had a pair of 2s with the low. Meh. 3 of the 4 times I flopped sets I lost. One was a HUGE pot that the case 6 came out on the river giving another guy a higher full house, oh well.

I got home about 2 am and was wired so popped open some 25/50 on FCP and I should have quit after the first 30 minutes cause I went on a mad rush up about $800 in 30 minutes. I proceeded to donk that $800 back then lose another $800. I clawed back to -4bb (-$180) and called it quits about 4:30 am.

I got up at 6:30 took my daughter to school and the same people that were playing when I went to sleep were still in the 25/50 game so I figured I would sit for a few hours and see if they were fatigued. After about 2 hours of play I ended up about 10bb ($511) so rub my $180 from last night and up $331.

Now I am tired from only getting 2 hours sleep and I'm still down $100 overall counting my tourney buyin, riggged!

I played for several hours and despite the crappy bad beats I still managed to make about $300 leaving me up $500 for the day.

I also played in the Negreanu Open and busted 15th of 68. Note to self .... Do not push all in with QK suited when you are going to get called by both KK and AQ, it really hurts your chances of winning the pot!

Played some 15/30 for about 30 minutes during my lunch today and popped a good run for nearly 12BB ($+357)

Monday Night Bar League Games

My wife and I played both our bar league games last night. The first game went really bad and I busted within the first 10 people. I picked up 10-5o in the BB and got to see the flop 25T. The SB bets into me and I reraise. Theres not many starting chips so when he puts me all in for about 800 more I call. He has J5, wtf! Turn the J, unbelievable! My wife made it down to the final 2 tables in the first game.

The second game I made the final table and busted 6th when I got it all in with top pair and guy sucked out a Q on the river to give him a higher pair.

I am not even going to tell you what limits I played last night, but basically broke even (-$75) after about 2 hours of play.

4th Royal Flush

I played for several hours last night and managed to hit the 4th royal flush of my life. I will add the hand history to this blog post when I get home as its on my home computer, but it was during a 25/50 game and I got paid a little, about $500 pot. I flopped the nut flush and rivered the royal.

I played several hours last night, mainly at 25/50, started about 11:00 pm finished up about 3 AM. Started off badly down about $1200 $900 at 25/50 and about $300 @ $10/$20 then some of my hands started holding up and I went from -$1200 to +$545 in about a 3 hour span.

Screw Bankroll Management

OK I dont really mean that, but there was only 1 5/10 table going on Saturday and a 15/30 and 25/50 table going. I set a loss limit of 50 bb @ 5/10 30 bb @ 15/30 and 20bb @ 25/50 and started my comeback into online poker after taking a week off.

I played about 6 table hours and finished the night up $560. I was down a decent amount and then won one of my biggest limit pots ever. It was a 24bb pot @ 25/50 where I flopped top set and it held up. I was getting ridiculous action. I flopped top set and there was a bet, raise, reraise in front of me so I capped it off .... heres the hand history ...

I lost a few good pots with AK vs Ax where the kicker hit and I lost a pretty nice sized pot when I hit my 2nd nut flush on the turn, but the board 4 flushed on the river and the Ace nuts took it down.

Another $130 WELL SPENT!

Live Tourney and Nice Cash Game

Last night I played in a $100 buyin tournament. I feel like its the best I have played in a live tournament yet, but came up short finished 6th which was 3 out of the money.

A couple hands early on I made some really tough calls to give me some big chips. This is a deepstack tourney with slow blinds so you can splash around a little more the first hour or two then you could in a normal tourney.

About 30 minutes in I had 52 of hearts in the BB and decided to call a 3x raise cause it was HU. Flop comes A3K with 1 heart. Original raiser does standard 1/2 pot continuation bet which I speculate and see. Turn brings the King of hearts. He then checks and I check behind. The river brings the 4 of hearts giving me a small straight of very small flush. Out of nowhere the guy goes all in for like 2500 chips which is over twice the pot size. It was a very strange bet that put me into the tank. I deduced he had a strong ace or most likely trip kings and he wanted me to stab at the pot on the turn. I just had to hope he wasnt full or had a higher flush and my thinking was if he was full or had a higher flush he wouldnt have pushed so I called. He indeed had 3 kings and I took it down.

A few hands later I picked up QK soooooooted and saw a 3 way flop that was raised. Flop comes AJ5 with 2 hearts and original raises bets 3/4s pot, I call, and mr quiet doubles the bet; we both call. The turn brings the T giving me the nuts. Original raiser checks, I check, mr. flop raiser checks behind, WTF. The river brings the 3rd heart, a 7. Now the original raiser goes all in for like 2000 chips. WTF is going on here. Flush draw? I had about 8000 in chips and made the call and she mucked her hand saying she had top 2.

I felt I played really good until we got in a key pot. I had KJ offsuit (Fillmaff) and raised it from mid position, blinds 400/800 I made it $2000. A very good player calls and then the lady in the Big Blind calls. Flop comes 3K9. The Big blind pushes her for her last 1500 chips, I call, then the 'very good player' squeezes me going all in for about $4000 more. I had about 15K in chips and made the call. She had A4 a total bluff, he had QK and I never improved and took a hit.

About 15 minutes later I get big slick and make it $2000 with the same 400/800 blinds and 'very good player' pushes in for about 6000 more. I have about 12000 in front of me and make the call. He shows AK as well, but of spades. 2 spades come on the flop, another on the turn and he takes down the pot, GRRRRR.

It gets down to 6 handed and there is a very loose player that is now the chipleader who won a huge pot by making a button steal with 47 of spades, but got called by the big blind with QK, 4 came on the flop and he was off and runnning. I am back up to about 12K in chips and raise my JJ up to 4000 with 500/1000 blinds. The loose player was in the big blind and defended HU. Flop comes 38Q. He gives me the greenlight and I bet 4000 leaving me only 4000 left saying I'm committed. He says put the rest in and turns over Q6, ugh and I'm out.

After the tourney 5 people decided to play a short handed limit cash game. $10/$20 with 30 minute levels of Limit Hold'Em, Omaha Hi/Lo, and A-5 Triple Draw. I won 2 very nice A-5 hands where I made a 75 low and got action from a 76 low. We played for about 3 hours til around 1 AM and I left the session up nearly 44BB, +$875. Was a great great session. After I took out my $100 tourney loss and tips I left the night up about $750. I dont put my 'live bankroll' in my stats here, but it felt good to have a nice win again.

Monday Night Bar League Games

Last night started a new leaderberboard for my Monday night bar league. I finished the last leaderboard in 2nd place which means I get to go play in the Tournament of Champions on September 30th which is basically about a 150 person crap shoot where the winner gets a buyin to either a $500 or a $1000 Tunica tourny and a trophy.

Last night my wife went with me which was pretty cool as she is just learning the game. She outlasted over half the field the first game. I finished 2nd out of about 40 in the first game. I learned about a really stupid 'league rule' after that fact which caused me to split 2nd place with another guy. When it was down to 3 handed the SB was the shortstack with 5000. I had 85,000 and the BB was the chipleader with about 110,000. The SB was all in blind cause blinds were 5K/10K and I picked up AT on the button and decided to go ahead and isolate the SB and pushed my 85K in. The BB was a TOTAL noobie luckbox who literally had a laminated hand ranking card in front of him to tell him which hands beat what hands. Well he decides his A4o is good and calls my all in. SB has rags and the BB hits his 4 ofcourse and I'm out. Well any normal tournament rules would give me 2nd and the SB 3rd since I had him WAY outchipped and we went out on the same hand, but this tourney gives the same points and finish if you bust on the same hand. WTF.

The second game my wife went out on a hand that I would have busted on as well. She had AQ flop comes 5TQ turn 2 river A and the guy had a set of tens, nothing you can do. She went out in the first 10 minutes and I picked up 89 of clubs in middle position, 4 limpers $100 blinds. Flop brings 336 with 2 clubs. Early donk (Aka Dustin) bets $500, I call, guy folds then the BB goes all in and had me covered, I had about $3000 more so was paying $3000 to win about $5500, not exactly flush drawing odds hehe but I called anways. He ofcourse had the Krablar K3 and I never caught and was out early.

Live Tourney | Live Cash Game | Movies Galore

Last night I played in a 43 person $200 buyin live game and busted 13th, top 6 paid.

After the tourney a $2/$5 NL Cash game started up and if you read my blog you know I dont really play NL, but it was the only game going and I was like why not.

After sitting for about 5 minutes I knew I was in trouble. There were 3 MANIACS at the table. There was no limping and betting or calling $50 - $75 with Q high seemed to be the standard play.

I played really tight and never saw a face card the first 2 orbits. Then this one guy had about $32 and went all in blind, he doubled up to $64. He went all in blind again and doubled up again to $128. He then puts it in blind again before the cards are dealt and the guy to his left who had about $220 in chips said he calls blind. WTF is going on here! It folds to me and I look down and wake up with pocket Kings. I declare All-In and the guy that called blind immediately throws in his other $100. They turn over 5-T and 8-T. My kings hold up and I make $300 bones.

I played for about 2 hours and folded mostly. I won one other decent pot when I made a HORRIBLE turn call. I had made a loose call in the blind with Q6 of hearts. Flop was x8T 1 heart. It checked around and the turn brought a 5 of hearts. A guy bets out $50 into about a $75 pot. For some reason I called and the river brought the 8 of hearts. I put the guy in for his last $75 and he calls with trip 8s made on the river. I show him my flush and he berates me for my horrible turn call, rightfully so.

I left the game up $425 so made $225 on the night.

Today my wife and I wanted to rent the movie Rock Star with Mark Wahlberg so I went to our local video store and it turns out they are having a clearance on all their VHS tapes. Rentals are $1.99 or you could buy a VHS for $2.50. So I proceeded to scavage the store and ended up buying the following movies for $2.50 each:

Best $40 I ever spent!

I'm still laying off online poker for awhile, probably a good week or two as I am just not into it after that last -$2200 session.

.... and the hits just keep on coming

OK so whats worse then losing $2200 playing poker in one day?

How about losing that much NOT playing poker because someone cloned your ATM card and cleaned out your bank account!

We found out yesterday that somehow someone emptied our bank account through an ATM using my Debit card number which was in my possession the whole time. This apparently happened on Tuesday while I was at work and we noticed it yesterday when our bank account was overdrawn.

Long story short after taking with US Bank Fraud and the police department this is called Cloning. You use your debit card somewhere and they either have cameras or a person that captures your information and watches you enter your pin #. They can then recreate a duplicate credit card and proceed to the nearest ATM and begin withdrawing. This particular individual kept withdrawing the $700 limit until the account was empty leaving the account overdrawn and lots of extra overdraft charges.

It’s going to take us about 3 weeks of time, paperwork, and headaches to get all this reversed, but we are confident that we will get the money back and the bank said they would take care of the charges, etc.

The advice I was given was to never use your pin # unless have to and if you do use your pin # be very protective of it (overhead cameras, people lingering close by, etc). Cover your hands while you enter your pin # and obviously never have it written down anywhere near your card. The police said they would be able to track down the ATM used and get the security tape, but most likely these people are professionals and will be disguised.

Just wanted to give everyone the heads up to be careful so this kind of horrible stuff doesn’t happen to you.

I know I complain alot about bad beats, but tonight was just ridiculous.

Worse session I've ever had. I tilted towards the end and lost even more when I should have just quit.

Bar Tourney Live Games & Some Ring

I played in my two bar league games tonight.

Finished 4th of 31 and 4th of 42.

I ended up finishing 2nd overall in points out of over 100 players so I feel good about that.

I came home and 4 tabled some $5/$10 and 1 tabled some $15/$30 cause the $10/$20 game was dead.

I won 7 bb in the 15/30 game and 42 bb in the $5/$10 session for +$664 3 hour session.

Nickelback Concert | Stars Million | FCPHUL | $5/$10

Saturday night my wife and I went to the Hinder, Chevelle, Hoobastank, and Nickelback concert that I won free tickets to last week. The show was absolutely awesome. I really liked Hinder as well.

Today I played in the FCP HU league last chance tourney, top 2 got buyins to next years league. I ofcourse bubbled 3rd. Lost a big chunk when a guy rivered me with a straight versus my top pair and they got it all in with A9 vs 7K on a 977 board, doh.

I played in the $215 Stars Million tournament and started off blazing. At the end of the first hour I was in the top 20, at one point I was even in the top 5. I made a stupid play where I donked off $6K with Ace high where the guy had a set then the bad beats just began. AQ vs A4 turn 4 river 4. A9 vs TJ flop TT, AK vs 55 5 on turn. Then was shortstacked and got it in with a pair of 3s and was beat by a pair of 9s.

I played some $5/$10 limit for a few hours this weekend and ended up 50BB for $499 which was good. My bankroll is at a new alltime high so yea me.

Well it turns out I shouldnt have hedged that Pittsburgh bet I guess since Pittsburgh covered the spread hard. I cant believe how fast Mansion paid that bet.

So I played in my live $100 tourney last night and made the final table again, but went out in terrible fashion. I had pocket 8s and raised it 4x blinds were 300/600 so 2400, I had about $5500 left after that bet. SB Calls everyone else folds. Flop 446. He checks and I push my last 5500. He him-haws around for about 5 minutes and finally says I call and amazingly shows AJo. WTF. Turn Blank. Barry Greenstein'd me with an Ace on the river and I was out.

After the tourney there were about 4 people who started a cash game. Was $10/$20 limit with 3 games mixed it. Just so happen 2 of the 3 I had never played live in my life. Meh its only 10/20 and only 4 handed, whats the worst that could happen. We played a mixed rotation of 2-7 triple draw, A-5 Triple Draw Lowball, and Omaha H/L. After I got into the game they dropped 2-7 and just did 30 minute rounds of A-5 and Omaha H/L. I played for about 2 hours and at my high point was up 7BB ($140), but by the end of the night I was dead even.

I got home about 1:00 in the morning and wasnt tired so popped onto FCP and played some $5/$10 for about an hour and won +15BB ($149).

So between the 5/10 and the Steelers game I increased by roll by $849 today. Good stuff.

So I am in on the Mansion Sportsbook Promo for $1100 to win $1000 @ an even pick line.

When Big Ben got hurt and Hines because questionable I decided to hedge 30% of my bet on Pinnacle Sports. I got a good line +1 +101 on Miami so wagered $300 to win $303.

Bottom line if Pittsburgh wins I win $700, if Dolphins win I win $303.

No Poker Tuesday | Little on Wednesday

Tuesday I didnt see one single flop at the tables. I took my wife out to a nice steak dinner, we picked up some movies and Coronas and had a great night.

Wednesday I played in the Neg O and got shortstacked early when I had TK on a 3T237 board and he had quad 3s. I got back to 1/2 avg at the hour mark and made my move to triple up with AQ and got called by A9. Board comes 67T and the ugly 8 came on the river. -$11.00.

I played about an hour of 5 tabling $5/$10 and finished up 23BB for $234.

Lots of Limit and My Bar League Games

I played alot of limit this weekend, probably 100 table hours easily, ended down $1118 for the weekend.

Last night I played in my 2 Monday night bar league games and did well. The first game I busted 7th of 36 when I picked up K4 in the BB flop 3KA, the blinds were so high I literally had 50% of my chips committed so I went with it. Guy flips over A9, but the 4 comes on the turn giving me two pair, but the rollercoaster 9 came on the river giving him higher two pair.

The 2nd tournament I finished 1st place out of 40. Won one key race at the final table 33 vs K9, K on the flop 3 on the turn. Last hand was my Q9 vs 6J and he hit the 6 on the flop and I hit Q on the river.

I missed the first 3 weeks of this league, but yesterday should have put me in the top 3 or 4 overall standings.

Rough Day at the limit tables, but good Tourney Cash

Played quite a bit of limit today and had one of my worse sessions yet; ended up down $1056.

I played in the $50 long kiss goodnight on FCP, 148 people NL Tourny and finished 2nd. Got HU and was a 1:3 chip dog and busted on a hand where I had top pair, but he flopped the straight, not much I could do, but was good for $1258 ($1204 profit).

Ended up avoiding a disastorous - $1000 day by being up $148 after that tournament.

OK so this is one of those REAAAAAAAAAAAAALYYY bad things I did that I know 180% that I should not have done, but I did it anyways because of drinking a bunch of alcohol. Its a little after 2 AM and for whatever reason I sat down at a $1000NL table for shits and giggles. I really had no intention of playing anything but extremely tight, but things happened and I got some hands and made some stupid calls I normally would not make if I had not been drinking that just happened to work out.
